What is a Community Resource Management Area (CREMA)?

In Ghana, Community Resource Management Area (CREMA) mechanism is being implemented to address key natural resources governance and management challenges that account for the declining trend in natural resources in off reserve area. This model seeks to encourage CREMA constituent communities to integrate natural resources management into their traditional livelihood strategies in areas outside of forest reserves and Protected Areas.
